Pharrell Williams wants celebs to get it on when it comes to politics.
“I don’t do politics. I actually get angry sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you off [who to vote for]”, he he told the Hollywood Reporter candidly in an interview published this month.
“There are celebrities that I love who have an opinion, but not all of them. I am one of those people [who says]’What the hell? shut up No one asked you’”.
The “Happy” hitmaker, 51, continued: “When people come out and get straight and roll up their sleeves and st, and they’re walking around with a sign: ‘Shut up!'”
Unsurprisingly, Williams avoided revealing who she’s voting for, though she told the outlet with a laugh: “I’m not sure I’d vote far right.”
He added: “I care about my people and I care about the country, but I feel like there’s a lot of work to be done and I’m really about action.”
The Grammy winner’s interview was released a day after Taylor Swift rocked the political world endorsing Kamala Harris for presidentwhile also condemning an AI-generated photo depicting her endorsing former President Donald Trump.
While the 34-year-old pop star is arguably the most influential celebrity to publicly endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential election, she’s far from the first to do so.
Olivia Rodrigo, George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, John Legend, Rosie O’Donnell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert De Niro and many more Hollywood stars have also done it. they pledged their support to Vice President Harris59.
On Tuesday, Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas, also announced they were vote for Harris and his running mate, Tim Walz“to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy.”
Meanwhile, Savannah Chrisley, Roseanne Barr, Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan and Elon Musk are among those advocating Trump’s second term in the White House.
